Sydor Instruments specializes in custom instrumentation for new applications where precise, ultra-fast optical measurements are needed. There are many emerging applications that depend on the interaction of light and materials to reveal new information from images.

We're currently working on streak camera and custom diagnostics projects in areas like:

Molecular Imaging & bio-chemical analysis

Streaked optical spectroscopy for Fluorescence Lifetime Imaging (FLIM) and Forster Resonance Energy Transfer (FRET) is used for studying molecular and bio-chemical processes on cellular structures. Proteomics and genetics are also benefitting from our novel ICCD imaging techniques. In addition, bioluminescence measurement at the single photon level is a key research tool used in aequorin and luciferase imaging.

EUV & XUV Laser plasma lithography

Next generation semiconductor source design needs fast, accurate tools to measure the shortest wavelengths on the fastest timescales. The Sydor ROSS Streak Camera is ideally suited for measuring UV and x-ray plasmas used in electronics manufacturing.

Advanced Semiconductor Materials

Streak cameras can measure carrier lifetimes in semiconductors yielding critical information necessary to investigate and develop faster semiconductor materials and microprocessors.
